Colloidal Silicon Dioxide is submicroscopic fumed silica prepared by the vapour-phase hydrolysis of a silicon compound.Colloidal Silicon Dioxide contains not less than 99.0 per cent and not more than 100.5 per cent of SiO2, Calculated on the ignite basis.
In the pharmaceutical industry, colloidal silicon dioxide has many uses in tablet-making: some include as an anti-caking agent, adsorbent, disintegrate, or glidant to allow powder to flow freely when tablets are processed.
